Ripe Time is a novel that is not an easy read - it does not allow itself to be absorbed without thinking. It is a story about the love of a student couple hidden from the girl's parents, because they see another candidate for her hand. The book is full of digressions and reflections of the main character often on mythological subjects. And all this takes place on the eve of World War I and in its first days in Germany....
