CHANDLER RAYMOND
TROUBLE IS MY SPECIALTY
Translated by Michał Ronikier

Raymond Chandler’s five most famous short stories! The collection *Trouble Is My Specialty* consisted of four of Chandler’s short stories featuring Philip Marlowe. As a point of interest, it’s worth noting that the name Marlowe did not originally appear in them, and the detective did not appear until the novel *The Big Sleep*, but these few short stories undoubtedly served as his origin story, as Raymond Chandler explained in a letter to James Sandoe in 1950. Eight years later, another short story featuring this private detective, “The Pencil,” was written, and it has been included in this edition alongside those legendary texts.
