"Rose" - a non-script drama by Stefan Żeromski, published under the pseudonym Jozef Katerla by Spółka Nakładowa Książka in Krakow in 1909. In this work, Żeromski tried to take a stand against the conflicting views on the meaning and purpose of the 1905 revolution and draws his own vision of the solution to social and political problems in Poland at the beginning of the 20th century. It can be assumed that his own views are the same as the activities of Romuald Traugutt, Józef Montwiłł-Mirecki, Józef Toczyski, Stefan Okrzei, whom he mentions as national heroes (in the Prologue). "
The cover of the drama is decorated with a sticker with the so-called "protective brand ", that is, a piece of paper measuring 10.5 x 12.6 cm with the consecutive number (here 1166.) of the piece and the monogram signature of the Author. It was intended by the originator - Zeromski - to protect the author from "overstamping" pieces beyond the norm established in the publishing contract.
Its author was Adam Półtawski.
Adam Jerzy Półtawski (born May 17, 1881 in Warsaw, died September 19, 1952 in Cracow) - Polish graphic designer and typographer, designer of securities and lecturer at printing industry schools. He is the author of typefaces: Antykwa Polska (now called "Antykwa Półtawskiego" from his name, 1924-1928) and Mediewal Polski (in design only).
