A passionate story about the history of General Jozef Dowbor-Musnich's 1st Polish Corps in the East, in which the author served. Wańkowicz participated in the mutiny of officers against the general after the signing of an agreement with the Germans in Bobruisk in May 1918 to disarm Polish troops, and in an attempt to arrest Mussnicki. As a result, he himself and a group of junior officers were brought before a field court and taken into custody. The aftermath of these events dragged on for several more years.
