Szancer, (born November 12, 1902 in Krakow, died March 21, 1973 in Warsaw) - Polish graphic artist, illustrator of children's books, friend and collaborator of Jan Brzechwa. He is the author of illustrations for more than 200 books, including Andersen's Fairy Tales, Mr. Kleks Academy, Mr. Doremi and his seven daughters, Brzechwa's children, For King Jelonka, Tuwim's Locomotive, Konopnicka's O krasnoludki i o sierotka Marysia, Pinocchio and many, many others. Millions of Polish children grew up on his magical illustrations.
