This drama evoked the story of the turbulent fate of Maryna Mnishchovna, the wife of Dmitri Samozwaniec and the first tsarina of Russia. The titular Agay-Han is a fictional character. "Feliks Wilhelm Wężyk (1796-1863) was a doctor of laws, bibliophile and collector, owner of Mroczenie and Baranowo (Greater Poland). In 1834 he married Catherine Lipska, with whom he had 7 children. He was involved in the management of family estates, as well as in political, scientific and socio-educational activities (e.g., he was a member of the Sejm, a member of many scientific societies, gave talks, organized excursions and folk festivals under the motto: Concord builds - discord ruins).
