"Crusaders" is the first part of a -consisting of 4 volumes- trilogy describing the history of the Crusades by an outstanding Polish novelist, which describes the confrontation of disintegrating feudal Europe with the world of Islam: its spirituality, customs and culture.
The novel's plot begins in Poland in 1095 and ends with the liberation of Jerusalem and the recovery of the Holy Sepulcher.
The trilogy about the Crusades consists of:
