Jan Ignacy Korytkowski (born December 31, 1824 in Gniezno, died May 14, 1888 there) - Catholic clergyman, historian, archivist, librarian, auxiliary bishop of Gniezno.
On August 10, 1851 he was ordained a priest. Over the course of his clerical career, he held a number of ecclesiastical posts, including pro-dean and dean (1869) of the Kępin deanery. In December 1869 he was appointed by Archbishop Ledóchowski as a canon of the Gniezno metropolitan chapter. Shortly before his death, he was appointed titular bishop of Hermopolitan, with duties as auxiliary bishop of the Gniezno archdiocese. He died before receiving the episcopal sacra.
He distinguished himself primarily as a historian. He compiled works, fundamental to the history of the Polish church hierarchy:
Prelates and canons of the metropolitan cathedral of Gniezno from the year 1000 until our days (1883)
Archbishops of Gniezno, Primate and Metropolitans of Poland from the year 1000 until 1821 (1887-1892, published partly posthumously)
Catalog of the archbishops of Gniezno (1881)
In recognition of his services to Church history, he was made a correspondent member of the Academy of Arts and Sciences in Cracow and an honorary doctor of theology at the Theological Faculty of the Jagiellonian University (1887).
