A famous book by Aleksander Kaminski recounting the activities of a group of Grey Ranks members in Warsaw during World War II, based on true events from the late 1930s and the period of German occupation. Its title refers to a fragment of Juliusz Słowacki's poem My Testament.
The second conspiratorial, edition covers incidents up to September 1943, so this is a revised and supplemented edition (the first, from August 1943, covered events up to April 1943).
Illustrations by S. Tukan [pseud., T. Kunstetter]. Cover design by Christopher Atelier. Photochemigraphic, printing and bookbinding work was done by clandestine graphic workshops in the country
