Jerzy Skarżyński (born December 16, 1924 in Cracow, died January 7, 2004 there) - Polish painter, theater and film set designer, author of book illustrations, educator.
He was a member of the Second Kraków Group, a formation of young artists centered around Tadeusz Kantor. Jerzy Skarżyński's paintings are held by the National Museum in Cracow, among others.
He took part in many group exhibitions and also had individual exhibitions of stage design (Cracow 1974, Szczecin 1975, Opole 1976, Zamosc 1979, Stockholm 1978).
He is the creator of a huge number of book illustrations, as well as press illustrations. He collaborated with the weekly Przekrój.
He designed movie, theater and cabaret posters, as well as occasional posters, such as those for the First Jazz Music Festival in Sopot in 1956. Based on a script by Tadeusz Kwiatkowski, he created the 6-issue comic strip Janosik.
