This work was published thanks to the efforts of the Underground Polish Studies institution in London, founded in 1947 by a group of former Home Army soldiers. The Study collected and published in the work just described the documentation of Polish resistance to the occupiers and the struggle waged by the Home Country in 1939 - 1945. The first edition was published in 1970.

The above study is intended to illustrate the organizational development and combat operations of the Home Army and outline the structure and development of the Polish Underground State.

After a cursory (due to the volume) review of the individual volumes, I can say that they contain reprints of many interesting documents and studies on the activities of individual operational units of the Home Army, even the smallest - local ones, to extensive treatises on the policy towards the occupants, as well as letters, orders written by the highest commanders of the Home Army. It seems to me that this collection is an inexhaustible source of knowledge about the Home Army and can provide a solid basis for research on this organization, as well as provide a basis for writing many an interesting academic paper on similar subjects.

The set also includes a continuation of the six-volume publication entitled. "Organization of material airdrops for the Home Army in selected documents". The archival materials have been selected in such a way as to create the fullest possible picture of the administrative and organizational-technical issues of the dispatch and receipt of material supply airdrops for the Home Army, seen mainly through the prism of the activities of the relevant Polish Army units in Great Britain.
